Artist, film director and TV producer
Christopher Roth is an artist, film director and TV producer. In 2018, Roth co-launched space–time.tv, a web-platform with (so far) three stations: realty-v with Berlin Kunst-Werke, station.plus with Arno Brandlhuber’s chair at the ETH Zurich, and 42, broadcasting from Fahrbereitschaft, Berlin. In the same year, Architecting after Politics, a 90-minute film (with Brandlhuber+) premiered: it is the third film after The Property Drama, which was shown at the Chicago Biennal 2017, and its prequel Legislating Architecture, shown at the Architecture Biennial in Venice in 2016. In the same year, Roth had a solo show at Esther Schipper: Blow Out. Hyperstition, a 103-minute film (with Armen Avanessian) was shown around the world, and The Seasons in Quincy, Four portraits on John Berger was in the official selection of the Berlinale. The work 80*81 What Happened ? (with Georg Diez) was published at Merve. The feature film Baader won the Alfred Bauer Prize in Berlin 2002. The feature film Jean and Jeanne. And Ottowent into pre-production this year and will be shot in 2020.
