Alexandre Cadain

A graduate from ENS Ulm and HEC Paris, passionate about art and technology, Alexandre Cadain believes in applying radical imagination to the world’s grandest challenges. Exploring new tracks for inclusive progress, he founded the studio ANIMA to help organizations such as space agencies (CNES, ESA) use their assets to be part of the solution. The studio leverages collective and artificial intelligences to produce impact projects with its partners. It currently works on launching the AI Commons’ knowledge hub to democratize AI resources (data, algorithms, computing power).

Since 2017, Alexandre Cadain has been a member of the United Nations’ AI for Good initiative; as a rapporteur for the Future of Work and co-chairing the Capacity Building track. He is also an ambassador for the XPRIZE Foundation in Europe, especially helping with the AI and the Avatar Prizes. Before that, he worked with Hyperloop Transportation Technologies, connecting external research labs to the supersonic transportation goal of the company. In 2016, he initiated the Post-digital research seminar at Ecole Normale supérieure with Béatrice Joyeux-Prunel, a multidisciplinary effort to explore the consequences of the digital world in creation practices; working for instance on the possibility of Artificial Imagination. Since 2018, Alexandre has led the program on Economics Futures at HEC Paris and teaches a class on Post-Capitalism for the Sustainability and Social Innovation Masters.
