Kiluanji Kia Henda

Born in Luanda, Angola in 1979. He lives and works between Luanda and Lisbon. Frieze Artist Award 2017, Kiluanji Kia Henda questions, not without humour, the colonial past of his native country, the history of the African diaspora in Europe and today’s migration tragedy. In his artistic practice, he confronts notions of identity, modernity and political engagement. In 2019, he joined the LUMA Arles' artists in residences program.
