Amita Baviskar is a Professor of Environmental Studies, Sociology, and Anthropology at Ashoka University in India. Her research focuses on environmental conflicts and social inequalities in India, particularly related to natural resources and air pollution. She is the author of Uncivil City: Ecology, Equity and the Commons in Delhi (2020) and First Garden of the Republic: Nature on the President's Estate (2016).
