Julien Grain

Cosmologist

Julien Grain is an astrophysicist and cosmologist at the Institute of Space Astrophysics (CNRS – National Centre for Scientific Research – and the Paris University at Saclay). After his doctorate at Grenoble in 2006 on the subject of Black Holes, he directed his research towards the essential physics of the universe as well as the study of traces of luminosity from the Big Bang. This research was initially carried out in the AstroParticle & Cosmology Laboratories, and later at the Institute of Space Astrophysics which he joined in 2008. Julien Grain has published over fifty papers of academic research. He is the author, with A. Barrau, of a pedagogic paper on Einstein’s General Theory of Relativity (Dunod), and he contributed to the collective work The Form and Origin of the Universe (Dunod). Finally, he has taken part in numerous events for the vulgarisation of science, both in the written press (For Science, The Elephant), on the radio (The Scientific Method), or during events such as the Science Festival.
