For its 42nd edition, the European Heritage Days will take place from Saturday, September 20 to Sunday, September 21, 2025, centered around the theme of “architectural heritage.”

On this occasion, LUMA Arles is offering two free activities related to this theme.

Visite commentée ⎢Les paysages du Parc des Ateliers (in French only)

A part of the Parc des Ateliers when it was still a railway site, before its transformation into a creative campus.

Alfred Fraix, Ville d’Arles - archives communales

Saturday, September 20 and Sunday, September 21 at 10:30 a.m.

Throughout the visit, visitors will be invited to (re)discover the history of the Parc des Ateliers: once a Roman necropolis, later a railway site and industrial wasteland, it has been transformed by LUMA Arles into an interdisciplinary creative campus surrounded by a landscaped park.

Today, exhibitions, talks, live performances, architecture, and design bring together artists, thinkers, researchers, and scientists to explore the connections between art, culture, the environment, human rights, and research.

This visit is offered in French only.

Ages 12 and up.
Free guided tour, booking required, subject to availability.

This mystery game invites you to dive into a fictional investigation inspired by the history of the Parc des Ateliers. Can you crack the case and uncover the truth?

This summer, the death of Jean Duval — a former railway worker and apprentice at the workshops in the 1950s — revealed an unexpected clue. In an old suitcase filled with memories, his family found a never-before-seen photo of the plaque, showing its back. A mysterious inscription is engraved there, hinting at a forgotten part of the workshops' history..."
