Olivia Custer is author of L’exemple de Kant (Bibliotheque Philosophique de Louvain, Peeters, 2012), and a number of articles on Kant, Foucault, Derrida, and contemporary ethical and political issues (the death penalty, consent, etc.).

Custer received her B.A. from Harvard College, and her doctorate from the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales, Paris.

She lives in Paris and has taught at the College International de Philosophie, the International Human Rights Exchange (Johannesburg), and at Bard College.
