Eleni Bagaki during her residency in Arles

"I need to really like what I'm painting"

Participant(s)  Eleni Bagaki

This video shows Eleni Bagaki in her studio in Arles during her residency, painting and working on her series What Bodies Want to Do.
She talks about her creative process, which includes using second-hand books found at flea markets and drawing inspiration from 1970s and 1980s street photographers. Her paintings explore bodies, color, and space, inviting viewers to move beyond the limits of the canvas and step into an imagined world.
