The National Museum of Natural History has a vast collection of cyanobacteria and microalgae. Claude Yepremian opens for us the culture room where more than 1800 strains are kept, which constitute both a heritage collection and a research collection.

In the Museum's Grande Galerie de l'Evolution, we discuss with Marc-André Selosse the place of microalgae in the history of the evolution of life on Earth and in the contemporary history of humans. The domestication of microalgae is still in its infancy.
